Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera is an officer of the Administrative Service of Pakistan, who entered the Civil Service in 1985. He served in the role of Federal Secretary of Commerce, Information and Broadcasting, Investment Board, and Privatization Ministries since April 2014 until entering as Cabinet Secretary on April 16th, 2020.
He received his MPA degree from Harvard University (1994), MA(Development Economics) from Williams College (1993), BSc (Hons) in Economics from the London School of Economics (1983), specializing in Industry & Trade. He had his schooling at the Aitchison College, Lahore. He was a fellow of Williams College's Center for Development Economics (1992-93) and a fellow of Edward S. Mason at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University (1993-94). He is also a recipient of the 1992-94 World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program.
He is a keen sportsman who plays cricket and captaining Aitchison College, London School of Economics & London University. Turning later to Golf, he played at the club level. He has worked as an elected member of the Lahore Gymkhana Club Management Committee, chairman of the Islamabad Golf Club, and president of the Islamabad Club Management Committee.
